Valentine’s Day 2026

Valentine’s Day was a hit in our house this year. Not long after Christmas, the kids were ready to begin the countdown for the next holiday. Before the kids, Valentine’s Day was a holiday my husband and I didn’t really celebrate- I’m sure my years in retail had something to do with that! However, since having kids, I lean into these little holidays and do my best to make them feel special.

A couple of weeks ago, we made these cute little “love bugs” out of toilet paper rolls. The love bugs definitely embody each of our personalities! My youngest has played with them nearly every day since we made them. This morning I found her tucking them in for a nap in her bed!

These pillow covers have quickly become my favorite valentine’s decor. It’s no surprise, I love color and these add a fun pop to our living room. I plan to keep the striped pillows out for awhile- I just love them!!

The “XO” pillow is 5+ years old from Kirklands. The striped pillow cover and hearts pillow cover are from Amazon. The black windowpane pillow cover is from Etsy.

Even Rummy loved snoozing on the pillows!! He’s so stinking cute.

In the kids’ rooms, I put all of their Valentine’s Day stuffed animals from previous years out on their beds. Harper’s room is currently torn apart and getting painted, so I didn’t capture any photos of her space.

On Valentine’s Day, we took the kids out for breakfast at a local spot that featured special activities for kids that came in that day. They had a table set up with an array of paints, coloring supplies, stickers, and crafts for the kids to do, as well as a photo-op spot. We had a blast crafting through breakfast! and I enjoyed drinking copious amounts of diner coffee!

We ended our day curled up on the couch with popcorn and The Parent Trap. It was such a lovely day, and just what we all needed!
